Another "Read 2 Rover" Success!
Dear Aleta,
I just wanted to touch base with you at the end of this school year to thank you for organizing our caring canines program. It was an unqualified success. The handlers were ever gracious, as well as their dogs! The students who participated were so happy to be included, and many of them simply learned how to be with a dog for the first time in their lives. I am looking forward to working with you next year. We'd like to expand the number of days, so as to expand the number of students who are able to participate. I will be in touch with you in August. I have the handlers' names and their emails and will be in touch with them as well. Thank you again!

Several months ago I heard about Caring Canines. As the Founder and Executive Director of The Resource Connection I was excited about connecting what you guys do with the needs of adults and children with disabilities in our outreach programs. I must admit Since childhood I have a tremendous phobia of dogs
After we spoke and you connected me to some of your friends I was excited for the children we would be providing respite to at Saturday Sitters but still personally hoping no dogs would come due to my significant phobia. Several Caring Canines arrived Pat Small and her friend with a sheltie and Christi Neal and her Golden.
The children and volunteers were so excited about seeing an playing with the dogs.
I still have to admit tremendous fear.
The dogs and ladies were amazing. The children despite their disabilities we so calm and excited the the night was a success.
Even further still tremendously afraid of dogs I was surprised at how calm the dogs were around me and that I was able to go near them and help with the children despite my fear.
I am not sure who was more blessed by the evening the children, volunteers or beginning to overcome my own fears of dogs...
Thank you for everything you guys do. We were so truly touched by your agency that I will share it with everyone I know. You might even think of using your program to help children and adults overcome their fears of dogs. I will be the first to sign up... My sincere thanks an appreciation for all you do,
